The practice of modern Yoga traces its roots to ancient lineages dating back thousands of years.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Meridian Yoga Therapy

My teaching background is rooted in the Ashtanga Vinyasa lineage of Yogic training, with an emphasis on breathwork and proper alignment. Training in the lineage of Ashtanga Yoga has given me a strong foundation for understanding how to sequence series of poses, as well as understanding the physicality required to prepare for a challenging pose. More recently, I have begun studying with the Science of Self Yoga team, combining knowledge of our body’s meridian organ pathways and acupressure points into healing asana practices.

Meridian Yoga follows the circuitry of our body’s organ pathways, as we practice asana in a way that facilitates a deeper connection with ourselves. Practicing with the meridian channels encourages a healing perspective by focusing and directing our breath along certain pathways of myofascial connection. In Yoga, these pathways are called “nadis”. In MYT, we refer to the channels as the Meridian Circuit. By consistently focusing our intention internal healing and support, we discover how to direct our vital life-force energy: Prana, or “Qi”.
